There’s a lot to enjoy at this beautiful complex, including a tennis court, volleyball and basketball courts, and a bike trail. The security and maintenance staff are friendly and professional.

Areia 102 is a first-floor apartment with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's the best airbnb to rent in Tanama Lodge.

The outdoor amenities were better than the inside: a lovely pool, grilling and bar areas, playground, tennis court, outdoor restroom, bikes to use, and good lighting. The grounds looked nice, and with two guarded gates to pass through, the community felt pretty safe. It’s also very quiet, which could suit families. The property is outdated, and most of the posted pictures aren’t current. There’s no front desk staff unless you ask for help, and when I did, he acted like he had no idea what to do. Nothing is within walking distance. The mall and Juanillo beach are each a 10-minute drive away, and there’s a grocery store across from the mall. We used Uber a lot, and it wasn’t expensive. I stayed through Airbnb, which I won’t do again. If you want a quiet, small place away from dining, tourism, and fun, this may be for you.

The location is convenient, close to both the airport and the mall. The pool area was nice, with loungers and cabanas, and the rooms had good bedrooms and bathrooms, plus a kitchen and dining space. There were two couples in our group, but they wouldn’t give us two room keys. The windows have no screens, so the bedrooms and bathroom could smell musty without airflow, which meant we had to use the a/c. There was wifi and a TV but no cable, which might be fine for a short stay. Laundry costs extra, and the room is cleaned weekly, which can be a long time to go with towels that don’t dry. This was our first visit to the Punta Cana area, so we didn’t know where to stay.

The place was clean and nice for our one-night stay, and the pool was good for children. There’s also a little store near the hotel. Check-in was a mess. We had the wrong location, and once we finally found the office, we had to go in for a confirmation and then return to the hotel. When we got there, we found out they hadn’t charged the card online, so we had to go pay before we could get the key. We were tired and hungry, and getting sent around like that made us really impatient.
