Tropic ecolodge

A piece of paradise right on the beach. If you're thinking of visiting punta rucia, you probably know it's a small fisherman village, so there's not much to do beyond enjoying one of the most beautiful beaches in DR, the local food, and this amazing property. Janine and her family will warm your heart. Take some time to talk with her about her life in villa rucia. You'll get a better understanding of Dominican life, and if you're Dominican, you may understand foreigners better too. It's a very kid friendly and safe location, and you can walk around without worries. The Ecolodge is a lovely traditional apartment in the pink house, with breathtaking sea views from its many windows. It has a fridge, two fans, mosquito nets, and private open air bathrooms where nobody can see you. There's also a little swimming pool at the back, a nice option at the end of the day. Breakfast is European and served at the beach. You can use the sun chairs there, and the restaurant next door is a family business with good food. Just keep in mind that, being a small place far from everything else, prices are higher than in most places.

The white sand beaches were beautiful, and the service and breakfast were good. The place was clean, too. But the bedrooms were hot and humid with very little cross ventilation, and there was no air conditioning. The wall fan didn’t spin, and the mosquito net over the bed blocked the air. The shower pressure was so bad it was basically impossible to shower inside. There was a hose outside with good pressure, though.

A nice way to get away from the busy city and spend time in nature. It’s not luxurious, but it was just right for that.

The location was great, and breakfast was a good, full meal.
