Getting there takes some effort. At one point on the drive, there’s no phone signal or internet at all, but I thought it was worth it. The view is a 10 out of 10, and the staff get five out of five for trying so hard to make you feel at home. The rooms are beautiful too. I did find a little dust on my bed when I arrived, probably because of the windows and the strong wind that day. I’d definitely recommend it.

The food was surprisingly good, and my room had a great patio. It was a very cool room, though getting to it may mean climbing some stairs. The hotel itself is so unusual, with waterfalls flowing into pools and rooms built right into the mountain. It’s also a great place to set off for whale watching.

We stopped for lunch and a swim during our Los Haitises National Park tour. The place is beautiful, and both the meal and dessert were great. Turkey Vultures were flying overhead in large numbers.

The clear, refreshing water and all the pools and waterfalls really stood out to us. We came with a tour and had a day pass, and there were slides, stairs, and so many lovely spots with plenty of room to enjoy them. The stonework that forms the pools was awe inspiring.
