Hotel Hampton by Hilton Santiago de los Caballeros

The staff's kindness and professionalism stood out from check-in through the restaurant and bar service. Hazel was among the attentive team members. The hotel is in a convenient spot near the city center and major attractions, with top local restaurants within walking distance. Its rooftop is cozy and well designed, with a close-up view of the iconic Santiago monument just across the street. The food is far beyond what I'd expect from a hotel restaurant, and compares with the area's top restaurants. This Hampton by Hilton is an interesting case: though the line is a 3-star hotel, the local owner has upgraded this one to 4 stars to compete locally. The rooms have also been upgraded and are much better than I'd expect from a local US chain. The price is more competitive than nearby hotels that don't offer the same luxury or convenient location. I'll keep using it when I travel to Santiago for business. Thanks for the fine service.

Update: We've completed our first stay and are back for the last one. We loved having a room with a view of the monument. Parking was very convenient and check-in went smoothly. Thanks for the generous welcome gift for our special trip, and to all the staff who made the stay so special. Breakfast was fantastic. We'll enjoy our final night and then hit the road. Thanks again! When I first wrote this, we were due to arrive in a couple of weeks for two separate stays to celebrate our 13th anniversary and my wife's birthday. The reviews made it sound like the place to be, and we were looking forward to a relaxing vacation. I said I'd update after the visit.

The rooftop food was outstanding, and the views were amazing. Service was impeccable, especially from the housekeeping team. The location was ideal for visiting the city's sights, and Pamela at the front desk was so helpful with suggestions.

My check-in at the Hampton by Hilton was extremely uncomfortable because of the receptionist, Gabriel. He came across as discourteous and unprofessional. At first he said he'd keep my passport and return it when I left the building, but when I went out, he hadn't given it back. I had to go back inside and ask for it. The way he spoke to me felt inappropriate and disrespectful. Guests should be treated courteously and given clear, professional communication, especially when important personal documents like a passport are involved. It's disappointing to have this experience in such a beautiful country. I sincerely hope management addresses it so future guests get the respect and professionalism they deserve.
