Aparta Hotel Drake

I wouldn’t stay here again. There was mold all over the room, and it wasn’t clean. They moved me to another room that was much cleaner, though it still felt dingy.

We came in after a late flight at 3:30 a.m. The guard opened the parking gate, and we were checked in within five minutes. Our room was quiet and clean, the AC blew cold, and we slept well. The one thing to know is that there was no hot water in the shower, which is common and almost expected for those of us who live in the Caribbean. Breakfast was good and plentiful. The location worked perfectly for us, with our business within walking distance. We’ll definitely stay again.

The location is great, but the hotel felt neglected, as though whoever runs it doesn’t care about it or put money into keeping it up. Paint was peeling from the walls, the mini fridge had a visibly broken door, and the place generally wasn’t clean. My room wasn’t very clean either: there was hair in the shower drain and stains on the bed sheets. The included breakfast was so bad I only ate it at the hotel once. The staff seemed not to want to be there, were slow, and acted as if every guest meant extra work. I wish I’d paid more attention to the reviews before booking a week here. It’s unpleasant to leave a bad review, but if your budget is really tight, an Airbnb would definitely be a better experience.

A good hotel in Santo Domingo 🇩🇴🥂
