The hotel could be excellent, but the facilities are deteriorating and maintenance is poor. It feels like they’re just going through the motions. The longtime staff are trying their best, but nobody seems to be pushing them to change or improve. The newer staff seem unambitious and poorly managed. Even the decorative pillows and bed covers look like the same ones they’ve had for at least 15 years. I imagine they’re hardly ever cleaned.

Julio was a standout. If you see my man Julio, give him a fist bump and a “¿Que lo que?” from me. The staff were first rate, wonderfully friendly and engaging, and went above and beyond to meet our needs. My trip overall was a disaster. Everything that could go wrong did, but Boutique Hotel Palacio was the one peaceful, comfortable spot. It felt like a quiet sanctuary behind the walls, away from the chaos of Zona Colonial. The layout brings together European colonial structures and modern conveniences in an engaging way.

The bed was a little stiff for my back, but otherwise it was a great place to rest. The service was on point and very helpful. Breakfast had a great selection, everything was clean, and the shower had hot water.

After a hot day exploring, the pool was great to come back to. The service was friendly, and parking was included, small but convenient. It’s right beside conde peatonal and nacional supermarket, and pretty close to the restaurants and activity around park independencia. From the outside, it looks completely different from what you’d expect.

The staff were friendly, which was the only good part. The indoor parking advertised as safe and secure had no space for cars, and the stay was horrible. There was no TV remote, the AC was off and took more than 20 minutes to get a little cold, and there was no hot water. The towels were dirty, and the room was dusty. I broke out in hives as soon as I got into bed, and the dust also set off my nose allergy.
