I paid for the room in cash, but the owner flatly refused to give me a receipt.

The room wasn’t large, but it was nice and clean. The location is their best feature. Service wasn’t really bad, but they don’t take credit cards, so bring cash. Recommended!

The first room had no windows and a wall covered in mold. The guy working that evening was really nice and supportive, though, and moved us to a bigger room with windows and a little kitchen for the same price. That room still wasn’t clean at all. Everything was dusty, like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks, and the whole building had no sense of furnishing or decoration. It was just uncomfortable. I’ve stayed in hostels in Santo Domingos Zona Colonial that were much better and even cheaper.

The owner was accommodating when we asked to move, and switched us to a different room for the same price. The service was good, and both the room and bathroom were clean. There’s a nice balcony on the third floor where you can have a snack or a drink. I’m giving it four stars because they shouldn’t offer rooms without windows. A windowless hotel room is a no-no.
