Hotel Renacer

I left early because the smell, mold, and general condition became too much, and the stay was stressful for my health. My asthma was bothering me from mold covering the walls, so I asked to switch rooms. The second room was a little better and had a window, but still had mold. Its AC wasn't as cool and was so loud I couldn't hear the TV. The internet didn't work there either, so I used my own pocket Wi-Fi to watch shows on my phone, which used my data faster than expected, or went to the lobby where the hotel internet worked better. In my first room, water dripped from the ceiling by the bathroom light. I worried about getting electrocuted while showering. The room had no window, which felt depressing, and smelled musty, like a wet dog. The bed's headboard was broken, so I had to push it against the wall to stop it falling. The AC worked well, but there was only a thin sheet and no blanket, so I was cold all night and couldn't sleep well. I also thought I saw a bed bug crawling on my shirt. Mosquitoes were in the lobby and in my room. The place was dirty and outdated, with peeling or moldy walls, and seemed like it needed a full renovation or to close. During my seven-day stay, they never gave me clean sheets or towels. Staff could be rude, and I felt like I had to walk on eggshells just to ask questions. By the pool, you had to buy food or drinks from their own store or restaurant beside it. They wouldn't let you bring anything from elsewhere into the pool area, which I thought sucked. I saw the reviews and took a chance even though it had only five stars out of ten. I didn't expect it to be worse than that. The price is cheap, but it still isn't worth what they ask. If you're looking for somewhere in Santo Domingo on booking.com and come across this place, just run. I wish I could give it zero stars, but I'm giving one.
