RIG Hotel Casa Conde

The bed and pillows were comfortable, and the hotel is in a prime location. Those were about the only real positives for me. WiFi was unreliable for video calls, and phone calls were spotty. I could work remotely well enough, though the connection was terrible in some parts of my room and I could barely get online there. The AC was the biggest problem. When I arrived on the first night, the room was well over 100F. The front desk person told me to give it a few hours, but it was still miserable then. After about 20 hours of running, the temperature had only dropped to maybe 85. Calling this room “AC” is 100% false advertising. I’d have been more comfortable outside. The AC in the office and breakfast rooms worked fine, but the rooms didn’t, as many people have mentioned. Breakfast was poor too, and the eggs seemed to have more salt than egg. The shower was terrible and moldy. It felt third world, and you have to hold the handle the whole time you wash. I was only there for 2 nights, and at least the location was convenient. I’d never stay again. Spend extra for a decent place, because this isn’t one.

I’d read the Google reviews and was nervous, since I was traveling with my partner, who’s recovering from a health trauma and is very sensitive to comfort in his surroundings. I contacted the hotel with my concerns and said I’d pay for an upgrade. They told me that wasn’t necessary and promised we’d have a great stay. I’m glad I listened, because they exceeded my expectations. The property was super clean, in an amazing, central location, and the breakfast was great. The one letdown was the towel situation. They gave me just one, and even after I asked several times, I never got another. I ended up using my beach towel. Apart from that, it was a great stay, and they’ve earned a repeat customer. I’m already planning to come back.

The location was great, but the hotel itself was dirty and on a tight budget. Both times I stayed, my rooms had lots of mosquitoes. The pillows had mold in them, the shower was dirty, and breakfast wasn’t good because the food wasn’t fresh. Even if you’re trying to save money, I’d still look elsewhere.

The staff were friendly and breakfast was decent, but those were small bright spots in a very uncomfortable stay. We booked a double room and got something completely different. Towels took over four hours to arrive, and although we’d booked 2 nights, we left early because the place was so unpleasant. The room was dusty and dirty, the towels were stained, and the bathroom smelled bad. There was grime and rust all over the bathroom, and even the lamps were rusty. The AC didn’t work at all, the room was unbearably hot, and the hot water kept running out while we showered. The doors seemed poorly made and as if they could break at any moment. The rooms, amenities, and facilities were shockingly bad, and the whole place needs a complete renovation. We felt like we’d been scammed and couldn’t wait to get back to the clean, comfortable resort in Punta Cana. I’d give this place zero stars if I could. Never again.
