Hotel San Marco

You’re right in the heart of Santo Domingo, close to the tourist sights, especially the Colonial Zone. Everyone, from the administration team to room service, was available to help with whatever I needed. The service was the best.

We slept well, and the air conditioning handled the hot, humid weather. The bathroom wasn’t air conditioned, and its window didn’t close all the way, so we kept the door shut. Still, the room was fine and we were pleased with the stay. My sister and I were there overnight on our way out of DR after visiting family. At first, the hotel struck me as quaint and stuck in years gone by, in a good way. The service was easily its best feature. The manager was helpful while training a new desk attendant. We arrived early and went out until check-in; when we returned, the room was ready. We’d mistakenly reserved one bed instead of two, and they fixed it quickly without complaint. We had to leave for the airport before breakfast was served, so we asked for sandwiches for the next morning. The morning manager made those for us, and also surprised us by preparing breakfast. We’d absolutely come back.

The hotel is very clean, with lovely Italian style rooms, a pretty backyard, and a pool. The staff were so friendly, and breakfast was available. It’s a little away from the Colonial zone, but the area is good and has everything close by, including a supermarket, KFC, a pharmacy, and a metro station. I absolutely recommend it. There are lots of rooms in this beautiful hotel, plus a pool and an open patio. Breakfast is free, and they cleaned our room and replaced things each day during our two night stay. The staff were friendly. When we went out, we left the key with them to hold. Loved it, and my shower head could be detached and held in my hand.
