VBermor Hotel

The location is great, which makes it a real shame the manager seems more interested in ripping people off than offering good service and a decent place to stay. He should be ashamed. The place desperately needs a refurb and was dirty and gross. We found several cockroaches in the room, the bedding was dirty, the fridge didn’t work, and the AC kept dripping. The shower barely sprayed and the toilet hardly flushed. After a day of travel, that was a lot to deal with. Since it was late and we were exhausted, we stayed the night, then left the next morning. It’s cheap for a reason. Don’t stay here.

The staff are really nice, and the price is great for what you get. The hotel turned out better than I expected. It isn’t fancy, but I’m glad I gave it a chance. The rooms are a good size and very clean, with a smart TV, mini fridge, and nice furniture. The location in Zona Colonial is perfect. There was a little noise at times, but not much. At night and through mid-morning it was quiet.

The facilities were decent and the location was good, but the outside noise drove me to leave at 10:30 pm and sleep at another hotel. A bar across the street and a private party behind the building together were just too much. The night shift receptionist was also listening to their phone and making calls on speaker. I paid twice to get away from the noise, then came back the next morning to ask for a partial refund since I’d only used the room for a few hours. They wouldn’t give back even a fraction. Not great.

An affordable hotel in central Santo Domingo. The room was basic and a little old fashioned, as is common in the Dominican Republic, but the bed was clean and comfortable. There was a small fridge too.
