The location is a strong point: UrCa is just off the main strip, and the rooms are spacious. The decor could use an update. You need to ask for room cleaning, but they'll arrange it after that. Showers get hot and are fine, though the hot water runs out after 10-15 minutes. That's just how things are in Sosua at this hotel price level, not a complaint about the hotel. I liked the bar because it wasn't crowded, so I could always get a drink and even play my own music. The staff were pleasant, and some spoke a little English. Breakfast was okay and used to be included in the room rate, cooked whenever you woke up. As far as I know, they no longer serve it in house, but you can get a priority seat for breakfast next door at Rockys. They take safety seriously if you bring a companion back to your room, with a blacklist of troublesome chicas intended to help prevent future problems. Parking needs care too. If you leave your car on the hotel side of the street, police may ticket it and tow it to the pound if you don't get downstairs quickly. That nearly happened to me: at 10:30 a.m., hotel staff came to my room to say officers were ready to tow the car and had written me a ticket. Paying it is a real hassle, so park on the other side of the street. UrCa has some way to go before it's great, but it's a good budget stay. The rooms aren't luxurious, though you don't go there to spend all your time inside. I'd stay again and advise giving it a chance.
