Serena Village

A well-kept house in a great spot near punta Cana. We didn't get a chance to visit the pool.

I’m happy with the condo I bought at Serena Village and think it has strong investment potential. The community is well located in Punta Cana, the condos seem well maintained, and my unit has new appliances, solid finishes, and a durable, carefully done build. It needed a few small repairs and touch-ups at closing, but nothing major, just the usual punch-list work. The financing support was a different story. Serena Village charges a fee to help non-citizens secure bank funding. After I paid, I was passed among three agents who seemed unfamiliar with the bank process, and I ended up coordinating with the bank myself. Being out of the country made it harder. Responses to important questions were slow or missing, some information wasn't provided, and there was occasional blunt rudeness. On the day the bank closed, the person handling my documents stopped responding after 3 p.m., leaving me to wait an extra day at my own expense. As a Black American and social scientist attentive to cultural norms and workplace patterns, I also noticed that I didn't see Black men in the office or in roles involving money, supervision, management, or facilitation. The only jobs where I consistently saw them were security and hard labor. It seemed like a broader pattern around Punta Cana, but it was disappointing to see during my purchase. I'm relieved the process is over and pleased with the property. Future buyers should think carefully about whether the paid financing assistance is worth the fee. In my experience, it wasn't, and you may have to do the work yourself anyway.

A lovely place, with nice pools and apartments that feel like home.

The entertainment team was exceptional, with Ricardo, Carlo, and everyone else. There are several pools: one has a bar and activities and competitions, while another has a bar too but is quieter for relaxing and swimming. There's also a small water park for kids. Everything is close together, from the Lobby and buffet to the restaurant, pool, and beach. We chose a master room with a pool view, which worked perfectly with the kids. There was plenty of space for them to nap. One thing to improve: a couple of parasols by the pool were broken, and we sometimes had trouble finding shade. The hotel should fix them. At the beach, there are lots of palapas and palm trees for shade. It's a really nice, clean place, and we recommend it.
