Al Naya Hotel

The staff are super friendly, but the breakfast food doesn’t deserve to be served in what’s called a four-star hotel. They should also consider adding AC in the hall. It’s just okay, and the price was no joke: I paid the same as at Sheraton Toronto during the same month.

Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of variety and very good quality. The hotel is conveniently placed, 7 to 10 minutes from Algiers airport and near different amenities. But check-in took around 50 minutes. My company had confirmed the reservation beforehand, yet reception had trouble finding it. The Sales Director stepped in, sorted it out, and was very welcoming. The internet connection didn’t work, which could be a big problem for business travelers.

A loud party at the hotel carried on past 2 AM, so getting any sleep was impossible. When I complained, the staff were dismissive and no help at all. My room also smelled strongly of cigarettes despite being supposed to be non-smoking, and they refused to move me. Awful stay, with service and care for guests that were totally unacceptable. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone wanting a peaceful, comfortable stay.

The phone in our room wasn’t fixed even after we reported it three times, so we couldn’t contact reception. The AC wasn’t working properly either, and the Wi-Fi just kept buffering while we searched online. When we told the receptionist, they only wrote down the room number and did nothing further. The service was terrible. We spent a lot but got none of the facilities, so anyone who’s just booked should stay away.
