Hotel Nelson - Bab El Oued

The room had a balcony overlooking the sea and park, plus a TV, wardrobe, desk, and refrigerator. It was comfortable, and the WiFi worked well. The hotel had just been renovated, within the last few weeks, with a thoughtful interior design. It sits in the heart of authentic Algiers, a few minutes' walk from the first/last metro station. The bathrooms weren't ensuite, but they were only metres away, clean, and shared by a limited number of rooms. They were separated for men and women. Breakfast was quite limited, with juice boxes, water, coffee from a proper machine, and a few sweet things. The staff were all really nice. I'd absolutely recommend it, 110%.

I paid 4000dzd for two people, which felt very reasonable. The room and hotel were clean, and they even provided towels and breakfast. The toilets are outside the rooms and were clean, but some people don't respect the male and female sides, which was really disrespectful.

The shared bathrooms and toilets weren't very clean, which was the one downside. I paid 5000 da for a room for three people in June 2025. The room on the first floor was spacious and clean, though there's no elevator. The staff were quite helpful, breakfast was nice and started early at 6.30 am, and the location in bab Elouad was quite nice. I stayed one night and overall it was good.

It has a hostel feel, with a shared bathroom and toilet, and sadly guests aren't allowed onto the balcony. The area is beautiful and close to the metro station. It's also very affordable, from 3000 DZD.
