Hôtel Saray

The rooms are roomy and nicely decorated, and the location is good. The staff are friendly and the service is acceptable, but the bathroom is old, wasn't cleaned well, and needs major renovation. At 15k DZD per night for a triple room with breakfast only, the price is highly exaggerated.

The reception staff were kind and polite, but they seemed embarrassed and unable to help when I raised the problems. The shower was filthy, the bed uncomfortable, there was a constant sewage smell in the bathroom, and there was no hot water. Breakfast was the same poor offering each day. On Friday, at 9 AM, they said nothing was left because the hotel was busy and guests had been abusing the buffet. That wasn't true, the hotel was almost empty. Since Friday is a day off in Algeria, I expected at least a basic breakfast, but before 9 AM there were no eggs or proper hot food, just a few pastries and small savoury items. Saturday was exactly the same. When I checked out at 6 AM on Sunday, I found out they only cook 30 eggs for the whole hotel, which explains why breakfast kept running out. The stay was very disappointing, and I felt ripped off even though I paid less than the £47-£57 per night listed by major providers. The hotel charges too much in euros and pounds for such poor quality and a serious lack of basic standards. It claims 3-star service, but fails badly. I'll never return and wouldn't recommend it. The staff were kind, but that didn't make up for the hotel itself.

It feels like a second home now. Clean, great service, and well situated. The manager is thoughtful, and they made the whole experience wonderful. It just makes you want to come back ❤️

For the service overall, it's far too expensive. I absolutely don't recommend it.
