Hyatt Regency Algiers Airport

The buffet dinners became one of the best parts of my stay at Hyatt Regency Algiers Airport. Each evening there was a great selection of local and international hot and cold dishes, salads, and fresh fruit, followed by lovely desserts and regional and international pastries, plus hot and cold drinks. The plates, cutlery, and serving dishes looked elegant and were practical and pleasant to use. Breakfast was also a buffet, with an exceptionally wide and exciting choice. The restaurant team worked efficiently, clearing used dishes and keeping tables clean. I stayed from May 10 to May 13, 2026. The hotel is right beside and within the airport area. You can technically walk from the terminal, though my host drove us. Reception welcomed us warmly, and check-in was pleasant. My room was spacious and clean, with lots of useful storage for luggage and clothes, including drawers and closets. Some parts looked a little worn and could use refreshing. Housekeeping and room service were quick and professional, and requests were handled promptly. They replenished two bottles of drinking water every day, which I appreciated. The hotel has a gym and a pool. I didn't use the gym, but the pool area was large, elegant, and beautifully lit, with plenty of places to relax, including terraces and comfortable lounge seating. The shower and restroom fixtures there looked worn and below the standard suggested by the pool area. As a vegetarian, I found it hard to choose food because most salads and cold items, unlike the hot dishes, had no ingredient labels. There was a lot to choose from, and asking staff about every item wasn't practical. I also found the towels inconvenient: apart from the bath mat towel, nearly all were bath towel size, with no smaller ones for hands and face. What stood out most was how warm, respectful, and willing to help everyone was, from administrative and restaurant staff to housekeeping and other service workers. If I return to Algiers, I'd definitely stay here again.

The reception staff, especially one person whose role I couldn't tell, perhaps a manager, were extremely rude. Their behavior spoiled my day and turned what had been a great experience into a very disappointing one. That's why, despite the beautiful hotel, I'm giving it only one star for slow service and poor service quality. There are real positives: the hotel is elegant, with a stunning view, and the rooms are clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The pool is wonderful, and the facilities and atmosphere are lovely. Staff should be there to serve guests and make them comfortable, not upset or inconvenience them. People pay a lot to stay here expecting to relax and be treated respectfully. The hotel itself is impressive, but the poor choice of staff seriously affects the experience.

The indoor pool is beautiful, and the fitness staff member was really friendly, with a great English accent. The rooms are luxurious and very clean, and the hotel is close enough to the airport to walk. Food was excellent too, whether from room service or the breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets. The older woman at concierge was the one exception, she was really rude.

Being right by the airport made the stay easy and stress-free, and the place was clean with professional service. The staff were warm and attentive throughout. Mr. Nabil, the Restaurant Manager, and Ms. Dahabiya, the Restaurant Supervisor, were especially kind and welcoming. Mr. Zahir and Ms. Radia from Housekeeping also took great care of the room. One small suggestion for Muslim guests: it would be helpful to have a bidet hose in the bathroom. A very good stay, which felt worthy of four stars.
