I forgot a valuable item in my room during a recent stay. When I called as soon as I noticed, I got different answers from different staff, promises that they’d check and call back, and then no follow-through. After several calls, it seemed they either didn’t care or someone had decided to keep my item. There was no accountability or effort, just excuses and shrugs. A hotel that won’t return something a guest left behind isn’t one I’d trust again. If honesty and professionalism matter to you, stay somewhere else.

The customer service needs work. It was my last day in Oran, and I wanted to treat myself to a full spa treatment with a hammam massage, sauna, and so on. I called to book, but the connection was bad and I struggled to understand the employee because I’m not a native Algerian. When I asked her to repeat herself, she hung up. I called several more times before another employee answered. She said she’d check whether anything was available and call back, but nobody ever did. The woman on the phone was downright rude, and the customer service was a disaster. If they can’t arrange a simple appointment by phone, with no option to book online, I wonder what else is going wrong. Employees handling calls should be trained in customer service. I don’t even want to imagine how foreign tourists are treated. I estimated the full treatment would cost 8,000 DA, so I’ll spare myself the ordeal and go to a local hamam for at most 1,000 DA, then donate the rest.
