ibis Oran Les Falaises

I booked one night at the ibis Oran and ended up staying three, largely because of the hospitality. Duty Manager Abdulkadir welcomed me warmly, and his kindness and professionalism made the stay feel personal and memorable. The room was quiet, simple, modern, and comfortable, with everything I needed as a solo traveller. The bed was excellent, and the hotel was clean and efficient, just as I’d expect from ibis. There was a very minor leak in the shower stall, but it didn’t affect my comfort. Breakfast was a good buffet with continental and hot choices. It was the same each day, but the quality was good, and I especially liked the fresh omelette made to order. I’d happily return on another trip to Oran and recommend the ibis Oran to solo travellers, couples, or people on business. The staff make it a reliable, pleasant place to stay.

The breakfast was underwhelming, with lots of viennoiserie and very little savory food. The view is the only good thing about this hotel, but the windows are so small that looking at the sea feels like peering through a narrow hole. The room itself felt cramped and cheap. The floor creaked, one room had dirty bedsheets, the bathroom was very humid with no ventilation, the TV kept showing no signal, and the old pillows and uncomfortable comforter made it hard to sleep. The air conditioning bothered me most. The room was chilly, the heater didn’t work, and the windows didn’t close properly, so cold air kept coming in. Reception service was also very slow. After an already tiring trip, we had to wait a long time in line just to get a room. I expected a decent hotel, but found it disappointing. I’ve stayed in cheaper places with much better service and hospitality. I wouldn’t come back, anywhere in Algeria, and can’t recommend it. I also wouldn’t choose a room without a sea view, even though the rooms are otherwise the same.

The hotel is quiet, and the staff are helpful. The rooms are standard Ibis rooms, with nothing to complain about, though there’s no equipment for making drinks in them. The restaurant has an unpleasant egg smell outside breakfast hours, when it changes, and the bar has quite a few flies around where drinks are prepared.

At 23:00, I’d called so many hotels and none picked up. Ibis was the only one that could take us when we urgently needed somewhere to stay. The receptionists were great. Abd al Wahad in the cafeteria was especially helpful and energetic, and always smiling. Don’t hesitate to ask him for anything if you go. He’s amazing. Merci Ibis hotel Oran, you’re amazing.
