The food was acceptable, and the staff really tried to make sure we had a good experience. They're the reason I gave three stars. Without them, I'd give it a solid two. The hotel itself needs major work: paint, new roofs, upgraded bathrooms, a pool that's deteriorating, and a more current front desk, among other things. You can clearly hear the neighbors because there's very little sound insulation between floors. The owners should consider remodeling soon or the business may not last.

The views are amazing, and breakfast was included and very good. The grounds could use some maintenance, though, and the rooms are very outdated, even if they're clean. The location worked perfectly for us: near downtown, but far enough away from its noise and chaos. Decent place, though not the best hotel I've stayed at. And that water slide has to be the creepiest one on the planet. This hotel would win first place for it.

I ended up spending most of my stay in the cosy room watching movies. The bathrooms needed work, and when we reported leaks, nobody seemed to care. There was mold around the pool and on the roof, with an unpleasant smell.

The hotel is old and a bit past its prime, but my kids loved our two story room and its spiral staircase up to their space. We would stay here again if we returned to Banos. There are multiple pools and hot tubs, athletic fields, a game room, and friendly staff. Town is a quick 10 minute walk, or a $1.50 cab ride.

The cabin worked for our large family, and there was a pool and restaurant where we had breakfast. But it often smelled really bad, usually after flushing. The water slide wasn't working, and other parts of the pool area also seemed out of order. There's no wifi in the rooms. It was sufficient if you just need somewhere to stay, though not a particularly comfortable visit.
