Hostal Flightless Cormorant

The terrace has an amazing view, and the hotel is right in the center on the boulevard. Rooms are huge and there’s good hot water. The woman at reception was super friendly and helpful. Great hotel for a very affordable price! Much as gracias 🙏

The room was fantastic, with a powerful hot shower once you gave it a minute, and the A/C worked great. Staff were really friendly and let me check in early even though my room was still being cleaned. Great location, wonderful views, and a lovely roof terrace. I’m not sure why the bad reviews, they deserve better!

Room #5 was one of my least favorite rooms anywhere I’ve traveled. The best parts of the stay were the location, the great view from the roof, and Oscar being helpful at least once. Sandra wasn’t helpful on two occasions. There’s an opening above the door that can’t be closed, so sound carries from all over the hotel. Open slats were stuffed with cushions to block some of it. The room is beside the hotel’s only staircase, so we heard guests coming and going and learned far too much about everyone staying there. It’s also right below the third-floor breakfast area and lounge. Blenders and loud conversations woke us every day, and cleaning supplies are stored in a closet less than a meter from the door, so we constantly heard staff fetching things. We asked twice to move during our week but couldn’t. There’s also a window above the bed with no curtain, letting in sunrise light. If the blenders don’t wake you, the sun will. Hot water was unpredictable, either cold or scalding, and took a while to settle to a reasonable temperature. The Wi-Fi barely worked. Staff blamed a storm, but it didn’t storm for six days straight during our visit. Between two phones and a computer, we got spotty Wi-Fi on one phone. The internet was down in the main office and common area too, and staff were hard to find there. Other guests even asked me where the office staff were. I’d give room #5 a negative 5 star review if I could. Staff, please spend two nights in it to understand these complaints.

Absolutely horrible stay. There was no hot water in the shower, and the walls were paper thin. My room opened right onto the common area and kitchen, and I was woken by people talking from 5 am.
