La Casa Verde

The rooms are huge, and the place is so quiet that the river is about all you hear. Breakfast was delicious, and they provide drinking water. Johan speaks English really well, replies quickly on WhatsApp, and shared plenty of information. He was welcoming and easy to talk to, with a great vibe. He helped us book tours without making us feel pressured. For the ruta de las cascadas, we saw a few tourists who seemed completely lost, but Johan had marked exactly where to go and stop on Maps.me for us. Everything was great!

We loved the breakfast buffet, with so many things to choose from, and the view was the best. The owner speaks perfect English and gave us loads of information and recommendations. My husband was joking that he didn't want to check out. Get a room with a balcony, you won't regret it!

The staff gave useful advice on things to do and spoke both English and Spanish. They also helped arrange transport to Quito airport. The rooms are spacious and the price is great, with hot showers and a really good breakfast. They even warmed the milk for our coffee. It's a quiet spot with a view and the calming sound of the rushing river below. Best value in Banos.

We messaged on WhatsApp before booking and got a better rate than the one online. When we arrived, they surprised us with a free room upgrade and a later checkout. Johan and his mother were lovely and helpful, carrying our bags upstairs, sharing local tips, and arranging activities. Breakfast was generous and tasty, served on a nice terrace above the river and mountains, with hummingbirds visiting often. The peaceful garden had a sweet dog and three friendly goats wandering around, a real treat if you love animals. Inside, the wood finishes make the guesthouse feel warm and welcoming. It's tucked beside the river, with beautiful mountain views and a calm, cozy atmosphere away from the town bustle. It's a little outside Baños center, but a taxi is only $1-$2, or you can walk in about 20 minutes, which was fine for us. The shower could have been a bit warmer, but it wasn't a big problem.
