The staff were the part I liked most. Christian at the front desk was warm and accommodating, spoke perfect English, and even remembered my name the next day. That's especially helpful for me while I'm learning Spanish. The room was clean, the carpet spotless, the bed amazing, and there were no odd smells. The hotel's elegance reminded me of a Ritz Carlton in the United States, yet it was such good value. My favorite hotel in Ecuador, and I highly recommend it.

The location is ideal for getting to tourist sights and restaurants. The room was small and didn't match what I expected from the pictures, but it did the job.

We decided not to stay, and the best part was that they agreed to refund us. The hotel is old and moldy, smells really bad, and the room's electrical outlets didn't work. There's no safe in the rooms. It looks and feels like a one-star place from the 1980s that hasn't changed or been aired out in 40 years. I don't understand its online rating. Maybe people feel bad leaving an honest review after getting their refund. The staff didn't seem surprised when we asked to leave.

The location was quiet and made it easy to get to the Malecon. We stayed for three days in early May 2023, and the room, lobby, and restaurant were all very clean. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, including arranging a reliable airport pickup around midnight. The restaurant staff were nice, and the food was very good. Breakfast was included, with excellent service from a different team than the evening staff. There was a good range of options: coffee, tasty hot chocolate, fresh fruit, yogurt, bread, hot items, and made-to-order egg dishes.

After checkout, they put our bags in “safe” storage behind reception. Apparently it wasn't so safe: I only found out on the plane that at least one bag of candy had been STOLEN from a bag. I'll have to wait and see if anything else is missing. They also charge outrageous prices for any extra hotel service.
