La Petite Auberge

We liked being close to almost everything, since you can walk around Baños easily. But the room smelled dusty, even though the sheets were clean. We also couldn't shower properly because the boiler was having problems.

Our loft room was cool, quaint, and surrounded by greenery. The fireplace was a lovely touch on a cold night, and the water pressure and temperature made for a great shower. We enjoyed staying at this attractive little property.

The relaxing feel here, away from all the noise and energy of Baños, was something I really appreciated. The garden and breakfast area were beautiful, the rooms were very clean, and the staff were kind and helpful. I loved my stay so much that I didn't want to leave!

From the map I expected it to be a bit far out, but Baños is tiny and it's about a two-minute walk to the town center. We paid $32/night for two people in a private room with a private bath, which was very reasonable. Hot water worked all the time, and they had inexpensive breakfast and reasonably priced beers if you wanted a relaxed evening in. The big Tiki bar kind of vibe fits the lovely courtyard and gardens, which are sure to impress. Frogs make lovely sounds in the evenings, and the room fireplaces are nice on chilly nights.
