The family who runs Blue Door has made my time in Ecuador feel special. They’re warm, knowledgeable, and hospitable, and they help me find my way around and enjoy the country. Inside, it’s clean and quiet, with lovely art and plants, and beautiful views over the city. The location is convenient for the city center and Basilica. Blue Door and the family have been at the heart of my experience in Ecuador, and I’ll keep coming back. :)

Cesar and his wife were the highlight of our visit to Blue Door Housing. They welcomed us into their home, helped us with lots of things, and even took us on a day trip for half what most tour operators charge. The location is ideal and the rooms are really nice. One of the nicest hotels we’ve stayed in. We’ll come back and recommend Blue Door to travelers in Ecuador.

Cesar took me on two day trips and a few hikes. He’s more than a driver, he also guided me. The location is great, about 10 minutes from Old City and Basilic.

I’ve stayed in several places during my trips to Quito, but this is the lodging house I return to. It’s comfortable and clean, and most attractions are an easy walk away. What keeps me coming back is the people: Cesar and his family are really friendly, and so are the other guests. Lots of them return too.

The old town is an easy walk away, so it’s a great spot for exploring. Staff are friendly and helpful with getting to know Quito, and they arrange affordable day trips out of town. The hostel is welcoming and nicely kept.
