Hotel La Vista

The water from the hallway poured under our door and flooded the room during heavy rain on our last night. That's poor design for a tropical beach hotel. I was also charged for four nights even though my family and I stayed three. I've disputed the extra charge with my credit card for several months, but the hotel hasn't replied to my emails or contacted me to reverse it. Be careful, keep your receipts, and check your card after the stay. There are plenty of nice beach hotels nearby, so you could stay elsewhere.

We paid 80 dollars a night for the suite, but there was no hot water or wi fi. When my son had a nosebleed in the middle of the night, staff showed little sympathy and said we had to wash the sheets or be charged. They kept asking for the keys to inspect the room even after I said five times it wasn't necessary because we keep things tidy. I was very disappointed with the customer service and definitely wouldn't recommend this hotel.

We stayed here with our baby and my parents, and loved it. The hotel is very clean and beautiful, right across the street from the beach. The rooms were comfortable, with A/C, TV, Wi-Fi, and a hot shower, though you have to wait two minutes for the water. We also enjoyed the good-priced food at the restaurant "el encuentro". The shrimp were delicious, as were the cazuela and spaghetti.

We couldn't smoke on the balcony, and the bathroom and sheets were full of sand. The guard also kept knocking on our door and yelling that we couldn't make any noise after 10pm. He even screamed that if we wanted to drink, we had to do it out on the street. None of these rules were posted around the place, just taped to the desk. They charged us for a room for five, but when we complained the next morning about how rude the guard was, the desk lady blamed us for drinking and said rooms only allow four people. Then the guard turned off the main lights, so we had no AC from 4am until the next morning. I don't recommend this at all.
