Casa de Lídice

The team at Casa Lidice were so kind and kept a special cup I’d accidentally left behind until I was able to come back for it many months later. I really appreciated their warm communication and the extra effort they put in. SUPERGRACIAS. Their service and integrity are top-tier, and I highly recommend them.

The room was clean and comfortable, the hot water was strong, and the staff were nice. There’s free drinking water and a huge rooftop with tables and chairs. The location is good too. Sound carries badly, though. You can hear people talking outside, cleaners chatting in other rooms, and the wooden floor creaking as people walk past. The wifi was very unstable and didn’t work about half the time. Also, if you’re still in your room late in the morning, they’ll call or knock to ask whether you want it cleaned.

The hotel listing is extremely misleading. It says in both English and Spanish that a free daily breakfast buffet is offered, but that isn't necessarily true. This leaves me facing an unplanned extra $109 in meal costs. I spoke to the manager, who acted as though there was no issue with the inaccurate description. I offered to pay the extra $43 I would have paid by choosing the breakfast option at checkout as a compromise, but she wouldn't make any change, including to the listing. See the attached photo from booking dot com.

The staff were really nice, and the rooms were a decent size. It was reasonably priced and very close to the old city centre. I’d stay again.
