Cuenca Suites

My month-long stay at Cuenca Suites ended with a frightening night, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The apartment itself was okay, but the management felt dangerously unreliable. I had to contact Airbnb to get a refund, then left for a hotel the next morning. Other reviews also describe neglect during crises, including a sick guest reportedly being denied help. I booked because the listing explicitly promised verified 45mbps internet, which I needed. On arrival, the internet didn’t work at all. Sonia, the host who lives on-site, dismissed the problem and wouldn’t address it. The building is large and has only one router, so the connection may be weak even when it’s working. When I calmly raised the missing service I was paying for, Sonia yelled at me to leave immediately and blocked me from reaching my room late at night. I ended up barricading myself inside while she made threatening calls outside my door. Alone in a foreign country, I was genuinely scared about what might happen. She then stopped communicating altogether. I see this as a failure of basic care for guests. Don’t risk your money or peace of mind here. Cuenca has many better, safer, more honest options.
