Hotel Santa Ana

The location is perfect, and the garage is the one thing that felt worth the price. The rooms look depressing, and the windows open onto the hallway but can’t be fully shut. Someone could easily open them from outside, so it didn’t feel safe. Breakfast wasn’t worth it, and the customer service was poor too. Honestly, it’s very overpriced and they just want money.

The parking was useful, and we were close to all the attractions in Cuenca. But the photos were what drew me in, and the rooms had no street-facing windows, only ones onto the hallway where you could hear everything. The bathrooms were badly outdated, and there was no hot water. Breakfast was just basic coffee and eggs, and it wasn’t good. The woman at the counter wasn’t friendly at all. I paid $190 for 2 nights. If you want a nice, restful place, don’t stay here.

The sheets and blankets smelled musty, there was hair on the sheets and pillow, and leftover food in the refrigerator. Our room had no towels. The TV remote battery was busted, and there was no AC or fan. Kids were loud in the pool all night, and we could hear them when trying to sleep. The woman at the desk was rude. I’ve never been this disappointed by a “hotel and spa.” What a joke. I’d rather stay in a hostel.

It’s only day one of a 7 day stay, and I already regret booking here. The hotel is under construction, with constant hammering, sawing, and grinding. The room is cramped, the bed takes up most of it, the walls are dirty and scuffed, and the lighting is terrible. On top of that, the hotel declined 2 of my three credit cards. I’m very unhappy to be stuck here for 7 days since I paid in advance.
