The location worked well as a starting point for exploring, with plenty nearby, though I found the street really busy. The building is beautiful and historical, and the restaurant has a great menu with delicious food. Domenica was especially kind and helpful, and went out of her way to make sure guests had a great stay. Juan was great too! Rooms are clean and well equipped. Since the place has been kept original, expect squeaky floors and thin walls. The staff were professional, kind, and very attentive. I highly recommend staying here in Cuenca.

The hotel is beautiful and in a great location, so I’d stay again. The rooms are a bit small, but the family room is worth booking if you can, it’s beautiful. Doménica and Juan Daniel were professional, very helpful, and gave great customer service. Breakfast was good, though sometimes slow, so keep that in mind when planning your day.

We stayed 6 nights in the old city, where it was quiet at night and easy to walk around. We enjoyed the good service, with lots of greetings and eye contact. The breakfast includes a buffet and a menu, so ask about the menu. We didn’t realize that was an option until near the end of our stay. Our room had a window onto the inner courtyard. There are also rooms with outside windows, which I’d recommend for airflow because ours could get stuffy at night. I was concerned the courtyard restaurant might be noisy, but there were no events during our stay. Check especially on weekends, since noise from a wedding reception will carry.

It’s a beautiful building in an amazing location, and if you plan to be out late, it could be a great fit. But the rooms open onto a balcony over the indoor courtyard, which is used as a restaurant, and the noise from there is making sleep impossible as I write this. I booked a hotel to sleep in. If your holiday means early nights and early starts, this place isn’t for you.
