The food was filling and really good, and the beds were warm and comfortable. The hot tub was relaxing, and the WiFi worked well. A lovely spot to stay before setting off on the Quilotoa loop, with accommodating hosts.

The hosts were great and made us feel welcome, and there’s a nice common area, good WiFi, and warm showers. It’s only a two-minute walk to the main plaza, where you can buy things, though the hostel is on the outskirts of little Sigchos. Nights get cold, so the rooms do too, but there are plenty of blankets. The family is really lovely.

Dinner and breakfast were fresh and tasty, and the family made a real effort to get to know us and make sure we were comfortable. The setup is great, with genuinely welcoming hosts. They were expecting to finish the pool, hot tub, and sauna in December. I’d recommend staying here.

There are adorable perros y gatos around the property, and you can ask for a packed lunch if you’re hiking the Quilatoa loop. We also got to try sugar cane juice from the actual trapiche, and had fun learning to turn it by hand. The sauna, cold plunge, pool, and hot tub were amazing. We were very happy here, with kind hosts, good food, and a warm bed and shower.

We were the only guests during our one-night stay and were even given local wine and berries. The rooms were spacious, the bed super comfortable, and the hot shower was the best we’d had in a while. The hosts were wonderful, and the food was amazing. They also shared lots of ideas for things to do nearby. I’d highly recommend booking El Trapiche while you’re in Sigchos.
