Breakfast was delicious, and I’d happily stay here again. It’s under a 5 minute walk to a couple of different bus stops, and I felt safe walking around at night. Everyone working here was so kind and helpful. The service deserves 6 stars.

The room was basic, which we expected for the price, but the laundry service was especially poor. It cost $25 for just 5kg and discoloured a lot of our white clothes. We also had water leaking through the ceiling without a proper repair, no Wi-Fi in the bedroom, a very slow lift, and a disappointing breakfast. The staff were friendly, but seemed to know about these repeat problems without taking meaningful steps to fix them. We wouldn’t recommend the hostel unless saving money matters more to you than comfort and convenience.

When I got back from the Galapagos, some items were missing from the bag I’d left here. One was a compression bag with souvenirs inside, and I’m gutted it’s gone. A jar of peanut butter was missing too. Nothing valuable, but still upsetting. The rate on hostel world was also 40% cheaper than what they tried to charge me at the desk. There are better hostels nearby with better facilities.

We booked a room 3 months ahead, only to find at check-in that they’d sold it to someone else. Then they offered us a place they called an “extension of the hotel,” but it was a student hostel. The room they showed us was a small attic above students who were smoking, and they still expected full price. The customer service and morals were terrible. We were relieved not to stay, since we’d heard the hotel rooms smell bad, have no WiFi, and that staff steal jackets. Don’t stay here. There are better hotels in the same area for the same price.
