I was quoted one price, then faced a huge increase when I arrived. I’d told him I had lots of luggage and couldn’t manage stairs, and he eventually let me take the downstairs suite for the original quoted $45. He had a bit of an attitude. The room and bed were very clean and comfortable.

It’s about a 10-minute walk from the bus station. The rooms are excellent, quiet and comfortable, with air conditioning. There’s also a rooftop space for relaxing or doing yoga. It seems to be the personal home of an American/Ecuadorian.

Horrible experience. The host was very rude and disrespectful, and acted inappropriately toward the women in our group. I wouldn’t recommend it for a woman traveling alone. As a man, you may also run into trouble over anything about you that he doesn’t like.

I was given a price, paid, and went into the room. After I handed over our passports and got them back about ten minutes later, I was asked for another $10. I refused, so I was kicked out, though my original payment was returned. The host was rude to me.

They stayed up late for me, which was kind. It’s an easy walk from the airport, affordable, and the beds are comfortable. Friendly staff too!
