The room was spacious and clean, and I enjoyed my stay in May. Nights were very loud, though, and communication is difficult if you don’t speak Spanish.

I had a private room with air conditioning and my own bathroom, which was nice. There was no hot water. Service was great, and it stayed quiet during quiet hours. The location felt a little hard to pin down, but the staff helped with communication.

Michael, the hostel owner, made my first night in South America feel so welcoming. The beds and showers were clean, and he drove us to a veggie place, then dropped us somewhere convenient for seeing the sights. 10/10, thank you!

The neighborhood felt safe, and the terrace was cute. The sheets were clean, too. Still, the rooms were pretty shabby, the bathroom was odd, and the lighting felt creepy. The guy who checked me in had a poor attitude. It’s conveniently near the bus terminal and airport.

The area feels pretty safe by Guayaquil standards, and the hostel’s in a handy spot near the airport and terminal. It’s good value and a nice place to stay. Michael’s owned it for almost 10 years; he’s originally from Israel and has built a family life here in Ecuador. He used to surf and is happy to share surf tips. You can also challenge him to ping pong.
