It feels like a cozy, lovely home, and I highly recommend staying here. The owner is really nice and always happy to chat in Spanish or English. She's got activities like cards and karaoke depending on the day of the week, plus all the information you need to explore the city and country. It's cheap and safe, close to food and a really cool gym.
Casa Familiar was a great stay. The house was tidy and lovely, with everything we needed, a good bed, and a nice bathroom. Josselin and Pilar were wonderful hosts, there when needed and happy to share what they know about Guayaquil. We also had a great foodie tour and a free walking tour. The location is really convenient. I'd absolutely recommend staying there.
Josselin is such an amazing host, and her house is very clean. Breakfast is free and basic, bread, eggs, coffee, jam, and butter, but there are plenty of options. I tried the vegan breakfast and wow, it was extremely delicious, just perfect! The neighborhood is lovely, and Parque Samanes is only a 20 minute walk away. There you can do canopy, climb walls, go biking, and more. There are vegan, typical, and seafood restaurants around the hostal, as well as a big mall where I watched a movie. They're so kind, you really have a good time in casa familiar.
People here are kind and always help you out, and it had everything I needed. The place was neat and clean, and the beds were really comfortable. I had a good experience and would definitely recommend it.
