We really enjoyed Guayaquil, even with its bad reputation lately. People were friendly, the food was great, and we hardly saw any foreign tourists, so the city felt local and authentic. The hotel was clean and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly. The neighborhood felt safe, with the police station right across the street. A great place to stay while connecting to the Galapagos. Do visit!

The reception staff were kind and helpful, and the room had a comfortable bed, though it smelled a bit funny. The shower had nice warm water. You can ask for a quiet room if noise is a concern. Restaurants are three or four blocks away, but I wouldn’t walk there at night because it doesn’t feel safe; deliveries are an option. Good value for the price, and fine for a short trip.

The room matched the photos and was spacious, with air conditioning, clean towels, shampoo, and soap. A double room was about $30 a night, and the downtown location is handy. My only complaint is that YouTube was the only thing available on the TV.

Comfy beds, effective air conditioning, and a good breakfast. It’s in a safe-feeling neighborhood, with the police station right outside. There was also a friendly cat at reception.
