The garden is such a lovely place to relax, with native fruit and herbs, and the breakfasts are delicious. The hotel is quiet, very clean, and feels safe. It’s easy to get around from here, and Uber rides to other parts of the city, including the nearby airport, are cheap. I’ve stayed at this family run hotel on all three of my trips to Guayaquil since 2022, most recently this past week. Fanny and her husband Rodrigo are incredibly welcoming and helpful, and everyone I’ve brought along has agreed. This is a real gem, and I can’t imagine staying anywhere else in Guayaquil.

The travel company I work for booked me in for one night, and I was glad they did. The owners, hospitality, and facilities were all top-notch. I’ve been all over the world, and this was a wonderful place to return to.

The homemade breakfast was a treat, with fresh fruit grown right on the property every morning. My husband and I were so glad we found this hostel and its kind owners. The room was great, and bottled water was always available. They called a cab for us when we needed one, and we felt safe the whole time. We’ll stay here whenever we come back to the city.

Fanny makes a delicious breakfast with eggs, tortilla, fruit, fresh juice, and great coffee. There’s a beautiful garden out back with fruit, vegetables, and ornamental plants. Rodrigo and Fanny are helpful with transportation and give guests a Guayaquil map with suggestions for places to go. Hostel Macaw is family run, spacious, comfortable, and clean. I’ll be back!

Fanny and her husband made everything easy for our group during an overnight stay on the way to the Galápagos Islands. They even drove us to a local restaurant and helped translate. The rooms were fresh and extremely clean, and breakfast was lovely. Nothing seemed like too much trouble, and I’d happily stay again. Thanks once more, John.
