Hotel The Royalty Inn

The room itself was clean, with plenty of storage, a mini-bar with some drinks (I wasn't sure what they cost), and air conditioning that worked well. You can walk to the airport, which was handy for my one-night stay. But the arrival and checkout access were a mess, and the staff member working Saturday, April 19th, 2025 should not be in hospitality. The hotel name wasn't on the outside window anymore, unlike what Google maps showed. I arrived around 6pm and rang the bell. The woman who let me in asked for my reservation, then had me show it to her. She didn't check a computer or paperwork. After calling someone to confirm I had a room, she took me upstairs, opened the room and got me connected to the wifi. Then she kept the room key and gestured for payment, even though I'd paid by card already. She said card payments meant I owed more on arrival, then told me it was $80, more than the room cost. She started another call and shut the door without giving me the key. I waited in the room, thinking it would be sorted soon, but after over an hour she still hadn't come back. Downstairs, she was sitting and watching videos on her phone. She handed me the key without explanation, and didn't tell me how to enter or leave the building. Before my early flight, I spent around 5-10 minutes looking for the front door button. I'd booked based on all the great reviews, but my experience didn't match them.
