The bed was comfortable, the room was nicely decorated, and the price was good. But it took us about 15 minutes standing on the sidewalk to get hold of someone to let us in. The internet worked intermittently at best, and worst of all, the place is right at the end of the airport runway.

I never got to stay here. I booked one night on air bnb and told them I would be traveling with my daughter. They asked for documentation for her, but when I asked what kind, such as a passport and birth certificate, they didn't answer. Later they said I needed documents from my wife too. I asked whether they meant a passport and written letter, and again got no answer. After all the requests and complications for traveling with my family, which I'd never encountered on air bnb before, I asked to cancel. They eventually said I could cancel for a full refund. I did, but air bnb says the booking isn't refundable. Later, they messaged that they were reporting my behavior and blocked me from replying. I have screenshots of all the messages and am happy to post them for people to judge. It's very strange to ask for so much documentation for a one-night stay with my child. They could have just answered my questions and listed family requirements before taking payment. I don't recommend them. If they deny any of this, I'll post the whole conversation. They're ridiculous.

For work or tourism, this is the best place to stay in Guayaquil.

I only stayed one night before heading to the Galapagos, but it was my best accommodation. Everything was clean and comfortable. There are lots of delicious restaurants near the port, and the octopus ganchos I had there were absolutely delicious.
