The staff and service were excellent, and the hotel is in a clean, safe part of Guayaquil, opposite the malecon. The rooms are much older than they look in the photos. It’s also on the third floor, with lots of steps to climb. If you’re okay with stairs for a few days, it could work well.

I needed a low-priced place near the action for one night after my flight, before moving into an Airbnb. The room was decent and the staff were helpful. There’s a vegetarian restaurant inside. It can get noisy in rooms facing the river because of traffic.

The shared spaces looked nice, and the staff were friendly. But the room was dark and smelled, with rubbish bins right outside. I chose it based on the booking photos, which showed a nice dorm, but the room I got had no windows and wasn't a dorm at all. The pictures and the actual room were completely different.

This is a hostal, not a full service hotel, and it has a friendly, social feel, with lively common areas and tasty vegetarian food. My room was comfortable, spacious, and had a solid bed. The small bathroom was well designed, and the soaps and body wash were better than I expected. There's no elevator in this multi story building, so carrying your own bags is important if you don't have help. The street next door is busy and noisy. They try to keep the sound out with double windows and air conditioning, but you should still expect noise.
