Google Maps got it right, even though there was no sign saying Hotel Plaza Victoria. Check-in was quick, and I had a nice room with a big bed, fast WiFi, cleanliness, and hot water. There’s a decent view from the window. You do have to climb some stairs, which is pretty standard. Not bad for $28.

Breakfast on the fourth floor came with a terrific view of the city and the mountains behind it. I stayed one night while traveling through Ecuador and visiting Ibarra and Otavalo. The hotel was very clean and updated, and everything from check-in to check-out was easy. My room felt modern and the bed was very comfortable. I’d highly recommend this hidden gem.
