Once the lights came on, spending time in the courtyard and restaurant helped me settle in. At first, just after sundown, the place looked dark and gloomy, and I was a little too quick to wonder if I should stay. It's a very rustic house and hostal, but a good option if you need somewhere cheap in Latacunga.

The owners were nice, and we had a bonfire 🔥. Everything was perfect.

The courtyard with flowers was a nice touch, but the rest felt pretty bare. There was nowhere to sit, and the place was rustic rather than cozy. My outdoor shower was only warm, not hot. The kitchen was the worst I've had on my trip: no salt or oil, only plastic cups, and the knives were dull. For the price, I don't think that's justified. I'd like more dishes and cups, and lockers installed in every room.
