The rooms are fairly priced, clean, and a step above the basics. Everything works, and having a refrigerator was handy for keeping cold drinks in the room.

I enjoyed my stay, and the room was very nice. The staff were great, and they've made some major renovations. Still, the bathroom floor gets extremely slippery when wet, with no grab bars, which makes it dangerous for an older person or someone with a disability. Getting into the hotel is also very difficult for people with disabilities and older guests.

The staff were lovely, and room service was amazing. My room was always very clean, and the hotel has a safe, welcoming atmosphere. If you're staying in machala, make sure to choose this hotel.

Anthony Alcivar, the English-speaking employee, made our stay pleasant and stress-free. He's a real professional with a great personality and a credit to the hotel. We chose the Grand Hotel Americano for the location, price, amenities, and English-speaking staff, and we were happy with the reasonable rates, great food, excellent service, helpful staff, and clean rooms. We would gladly stay again and highly recommend it. JM & RL McKiernan

The service was good, but the rooms were very noisy and breakfast was pretty basic....
