Best Western Premier Sail Plaza Manta

They hosted an annual construction fair with at least 25 companies displaying their products. The hotel is right on the ocean and has conference rooms, a bar, restaurant, pool, and plenty of underground parking. Wheelchair access is available, and they accept all major credit cards.

It's a beautiful hotel, probably the nicest in Manta, and it has the potential to be Ecuador's best. But with most of the lights off, it often looks closed and doesn't feel welcoming. They need to know how to make better use of what they've got.

We were ten colleagues dealing with the same mess, and by the end we were all angry about how the situation was handled. I'd booked a twin room at Manta BWP Sail Plaza from october 27th to october 29th for a company getaway, since I'd had good experiences at other hotels in the chain. Here, I waited about four hours for a room, and it wasn't the one I'd reserved. I was given a single bed, so I asked for the second bed I'd booked. Two hours later they brought in a very hard plank bed. I asked for a proper bed, not a cot, and then waited another hour. A woman eventually came over and offered us coffee as if that would fix things. I told her I don't drink coffee. She said she couldn't offer anything else, that it was only a courtesy, and she hadn't even needed to give us anything. That was the last of my patience. I went back to the room, got my things, and returned to the lobby to cancel. Only after she realized we were leaving did her manner change and she try to talk to us, but we were done listening. We called a cab and left. I wasn't greeted properly when I arrived, and even asking for water was a struggle. Her behavior was completely inappropriate for a service business, especially one in a chain that's supposed to be among the best in the world. I've never been treated like I was yesterday. They may not care about my complaint, as big chains often don't, but I had to say how badly the woman and the hotel treated us. This location should be called "Worst Western".

Everything in the hotel feels new since it was built recently, and the rooms are comfortable. There's also underground parking. For a five-star place, though, the buffet breakfast was surprisingly limited and basic, and it disappointed me.
