Casitas de Madera

The atmosphere, food and drinks here are lovely if you're staying in Mindo. But the highlight for me was getting a massage from Martha!!!! Even with the language barrier, I left feeling relaxed, refreshed and rejuvenated from head to toe.

Coming back after the pandemic was a real letdown. My first stay here had been great, so I was excited to return, but this time my room had no hot water. I think the gas tank was empty. No one fixed it, and I was told I must have mixed up the hot and cold taps. Breakfast was disappointing too. The employees and kids heading to school had breakfast and coffee ready before they got there, but I waited an hour before finally asking to be served. For the price, it was a very expensive disappointment.

I only stopped in for a meal, and it was delicious. The staff were super friendly, and hummingbirds and butterflies were all around, close enough to almost touch. Good for groups of any size.

We were able to check in very late because they communicated well with us ahead of time. The hotel is peaceful, surrounded by flowers, and still close to town. The garden is gorgeous, the staff are friendly, breakfast is delicious, and there’s laundry service. The pool is nice and the jacuzzi is warm, though the jets are weak and it’s mostly bubbles. In our triple room, one bed was a king and the other a twin.
