The beds were really comfortable, and the little kitchen had everything we needed to cook for four. They also provided shampoo and conditioner, and the warm Italian shower was lovely. There’s a hydromassage tub to relax in, too. We wanted a quiet escape from Quito, and Subtropica suites was just right. It’s surrounded by nature and about a 10min walk from central Mindo.

We only had one night at Subtropica and wished we could’ve stayed longer. The suites were so comfortable, the property is beautiful, and having the pool right outside our door was a huge bonus. The food was amazing, too! We had a fabulous time meeting the owners. They were really nice and helped us book other activities nearby. The butterfly gardens and zip lines are close by. Well worth the trip. Thank you Jose Antonio for making our stay so great.

A few kilometers from central Mindo, modern cabins sit around a pool with a jacuzzi. The owner gave excellent service, and the welcome was warm. Great value for money.

The suites are small but really pleasant, and the pool just outside the rooms is lovely. It’s shared with the other four cabins, yet the design still gives you privacy. Breakfast at our outdoor table was simple and good quality. I’d suggest raising the pool temperature a few degrees. It’s cold at night, which matters when you’re traveling with children and don’t want them to catch a cold. In the morning, though, the water feels more comfortable.
