So quiet and almost empty, with nothing but the shoreline in front of you as the sun goes down.

I first went to this lovely beach during a visit to Mompiche, Ecuador, and it’s become one of my favorites. The sand really is black, but the water is clean, and it’s a great spot for a pleasant day. When you like somewhere, you want to go back, God willing. I highly recommend a visit.
The facilities are simple, but they’re cozy, and the place is peaceful. Playa Negra House is only a few meters from the sea, a nice spot to relax for a few days right beside that huge ocean. It feels like a home away from home :)
A friendly staff and a quaint, very rustic hostel. The rooms have double beds and the bathrooms are shared. It won’t suit everyone, but I liked its character.
The price was very reasonable, and the service was excellent. Getting around would be hard for someone with a disability or an older person because access is difficult and the floors are a problem.
