The place is tiny, with hardly any room to relax, and the owners' reception hours seem to depend on their mood. They gave us a different room from the one we booked, with no window and a moldy smell. The whole place was really dirty, especially the kitchen, which smelled of urine and was full of insects. The owners seemed like they didn't care.

The receptionist was nice, but the Saturday in October, 15 stay in a private room was pretty awful. Wires were coming out of the shower head, and I got little shocks while using it. I stopped as soon as I heard buzzing and felt the tingling. Noise started as soon as I arrived and kept up until I left: loud music all night and into the early morning, then, after about an hour of quiet, cars came by at 10am on Sunday with microphones advertising food and singing songs. The website presents the grand azul as a break from Montanita's noise, but you still get the noise of Olon. I'd spend the extra 7$ on a nicer place away from the center of Olon. There are some nice airbnbs.

The owner lives in the house with a small child, and the woman there acted annoyed by having guests around, which made me uncomfortable. There was a cockroach in our room and plenty more in the kitchen. Both the rooms and kitchen were dirty, and there wasn't a shared place to relax.

The owners were nice, the vibe was laid-back, and the wifi was good. It's a lovely little place, decently clean for somewhere by the beach.
