This is a great base for exploring the many must-see spots nearby, most within 20 minutes to an hour away, and there’s plenty to do right at the lodge too. Comfortable rooms and outstanding food. The fruit feeders bring in dozens of birds, including tanagers, toucanets, and toucan barbets, along with mammals such as opossums and tayra. The hummingbird feeders are incredible, with some of the region’s most iconic species looking like they’re posing for a magazine shoot. Richard, the manager, was very helpful with setting up a flash rig for Nat Geo-quality photos. Any birder, naturalist, or photographer in the area should make this an essential stop. I’ll be back!
