The cooking was a real highlight, thoughtful food made by someone who clearly enjoys it. The staff were eager to help, and the whole place had a relaxed feel. I liked it enough to add days to my reservation. It's just over an hour from Quito, with breathtaking views along the way. Bring warm clothes, though they have some for sale if you forget. I didn't find it cold, just cooler than the city, and a sweater feels nice after the thermal pools.

I expected a simple hotel by the hot springs and found a real gem. There are at least three working pools supplied by the nearby springs, and at night they light the fireplaces in the comfortable, clean rooms and send hot spring water to each room's private tub. The staff were friendly, and the whole experience was unbelievable. The restaurant's beautiful, tasty dishes felt like art. Breakfast is included in the room rate.

The setting was beautiful, and the pools were nice, though they picked up debris from the environment and got dirty. Everyone was kind and helpful, but service was slow, which I think came from being understaffed. The food was good but could use plenty of improvement. Our room was good, but the jacuzzi jets were dirty when we tried to use it.

I've been here many times because the food is awesome. The rooms are clean and rustic. Since they're a bit farther down the hill, the water temperature can vary.
